Murex in PCQACL
With the theme: Sustaining Global Quality Innovations, Philippine Council for Quality Assurance in Clinical Laboratories successfully held its 15th Annual Convention at Crowne Plaza Galleria Hotel, Ortigas Ave. Quezon City last September 25-27, 2018.
In accordance with the convention’s theme, PCQACL 2018 organizers invited two international speakers who have excellent marks in clinical laboratory. One of them is Khosrow Adeli, MD PhD, FCACB, DABCC, Head of Division of Clinical Biochemistry, Pediatric Laboratory Medicine, The Hospital for Sick Children,Toronto, Canada, Senior Scientist, Molecular Structure and Function, Research Institute, The Hospital for Sick Children, Director for Point of Care Testing Program, The Hospital for Sick Children.
Another speaker is Raja Elina Raja Aziddin, PhD, the Head of Drug and Research Laboratory, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Technical Manager for Pathology Department Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and author of various research studies: Method development for Toxicology and Drugs of Abuse Testing, Drug Pharmacology, Reference Values and Quality Improvement Studies.
Meanwhile, with the convention’s aim Murex Diagnostics continues to bring quality clinical machines to Filipinos. Thus, Murex brought with them various machines that will lead to further innovation of clinical laboratory practices in the country during the said event.
The said machines are of the following:
a. Yhlo IFlash 1800, a chemiluminiscence Immunoassay Analyzer
b. Labnovation LD600, HPLC A1c Analyzer
c. Greencare A1c, a compact A1c analyzer; and
d. Boditech, Afias 1, a fully automated immunology analyzer.
On the other hand, the event was a success for the participants went home with a lot of new knowledge when it comes to clinical laboratory practice from the speakers and exposure to various machines that were showcased by different medical diagnostic distributing companies.
